Why this works differently
Hand-mapped connections
Every link in this engine was made by a reader, not a machine. We look at how a book feels. The weight of its themes. The way the pages turn at 2 AM. The quiet ache or the breathless rush.
Explained recommendations
Each suggestion comes with a short explanation of why it matches your book. Same mood. Same thematic depth. Same pacing. You decide what matters most right now.
Beyond the bestseller list
The engine surfaces deep cuts alongside well-known titles. If you loved a quiet book, you will not get pointed at the loudest new release. You will get pointed at the right one.
How to get the most from this engine
Start with a book that stayed with you. Not just one you liked, one that changed how you felt for a day or a week. The stronger the connection you describe, the better the matches will be. Use the filter pills to narrow by what you want to recapture. Want the same creeping dread? Filter by mood. Want the same thematic weight? Filter by theme. You can also explore reading paths, which chain three to five books into a journey that builds on itself. These are great when you want to stay in a particular headspace for a while.
Your searches and saves live in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server. If you want to share your results, use the copy or share link buttons to generate a URL you can send to a friend or post in a book group. The print card option formats your recommendations for a trip to the library or bookstore.
The connection web is always growing. If your book is not found, try a similar title or use the suggestion box below the results to request it. The engine covers literary fiction, speculative fiction, mystery, memoir, and select nonfiction. It does not yet cover every genre equally, but the gaps are filling in.
Common questions
- How is this different from Goodreads or Amazon recommendations?
- Those sites use purchase data and browsing patterns. This engine uses hand-mapped connections based on how books feel to read, not how many people bought both. Each recommendation explains the link in plain language.
- What if my book is not in the database?
- Try entering a book that is similar in mood or style. The engine will still surface useful connections. The database is growing, so check back for new additions.
- Can I save my results?
- Yes. Your search history and saved recommendations are stored in your browser. You can also print a recommendation card or copy a shareable link.
- What is a reading path?
- A reading path is a curated sequence of three to five books that carry a similar emotional or thematic thread from start to finish. Think of it as a journey where each book builds on the last.
- Will you add my favorite book?
- The connection web grows based on what readers ask for. Use the suggestion box at the bottom of the results page to request titles.
